Operating Procedures
- Player Eligibility: Players on SCSA Select team must reside in the geographical area described in the SCSA Constitution. “The boundaries of The Southeast Cincinnati Soccer Association shall benorth of the Ohio River, eastern Hamilton County and western Clermont County. Also, new areas where soccer programs do not exist may be included.”
Up to ten (10) players per team can be chosen on teams which play 6 v 6 (U8-U10), up to fourteen (14) players per team for 8 v 8 (U11-U12), up to eighteen (18) 11 v 11 (U13-U14) and up to twenty two (18 only dress for games 22 roster) can be chosen for U15 and above.
- League Affiliation: SCSA Select competes in the Cincinnati United Soccer League (CUSL), and is governed by the Constitution and by-laws of SCSA, CUSL, and the Ohio South Youth Soccer Association (OSYSA).
- Tryouts & Player Placement: Open tryouts for SCSA Select will be held in June of each year. Supplemental tryouts for existing teams and open tryouts for new teams will be held in November of each year. Other supplemental tryouts may be conducted on an as needed basis.
- Tournaments: SCSA Select teams are encouraged to play in tournaments as agreed by majority vote of the parents. These tournaments can be chosen from the OSYSA web site or other approved tournaments outside Ohio South if your teams wishes to travel.
- Player Fees: "Player fees" for SCSA Select teams are currently $150 per player "per season". We play a Spring and Fall Season (two seasons). The "player fees" cover league playing fees, select player cards, administration fees, tryout fees, practice field rental, game field rental and other maintenance fees related to select soccer. "Team Fees" Individual player team fees shall be based on total expected team costs divided by the anticipated number of players on the team. Player team fees shall include all game referee fees, tournament fees and if applicable-trainer/coach fees.
- Player Fee Due Dates: Player fees shall be paid to SCSA Select directly or through the coach by each player’s family. This fee is due within thirty days of acceptance on to a team’s roster. This payment is non-refundable unless due to season ending injury prior to the 4thgame of the season.
- Fund Raising: All SCSA Select teams may, by majority vote of the parents of the team involved, have fund raising activities to raise funds for team/player fees for purposes such as additional equipment, tournament fees, trainers, team banners, etc. Fundraisers must by approved by the SCSA Select Director.
- Coach Selection & Requirements: Head coaches for SCSA Select teams shall be chosen (following written application listing the applicant’s coaching experience, coaching philosophy, playing experience, and USSF licensing level, if any) by the SCSA Select Director.
- Policy on Paid Coaches: SCSA Select coaches are considered volunteers and shall not be paid for their services, except in the case where a team agrees to have a paid trainer/coach. All fees associated with a paid trainer/coach are the responsibility of the team/parents.
- Uniforms & Sponsorship Policy: Team colors for SCSA Select shall be blue and gold. The primary or “home” uniform shall be a blue jersey with SCSA Select logo, blue shorts and blue socks. The SCSA logo shall appear on a patch on the upper left chest area.
- Parental Involvement: Due to the volunteer nature of SCSA Select, the success of our program is dependent on a high degree of involvement and support on the part of the parents.
- Code of Conduct: All parents, coaches,trainers and any other person associated with SCSA Select shall be shown andgiven the opportunity to copy the SCSA Mission Statement, Operating Procedures and Code of Conduct. They will agree, in writing, to conduct themselves in accordance with the letter and spirit of the Mission Statement, Operating Procedures, and Code of Conduct and to endeavor to ensure that other persons do likewise.
